This is a short video that shows what it's like to be a missionary. This one focuses on the women that are serving. Having been one myself, I can testify that it is a wonderful opportunity to serve and grow closer to the Lord.

What percentage of Mormon missionaries are women?
Sorry I'm so slow in answering this question. I wasn't able to use the computer right when I read it, and then I forgot. But my husband remembered, and this morning did some calculations for me. :) Here is what he sent me in an email:
The total number of missionaries has hovered around 58,000 with approximately 15% sisters.
With the age change that was announced in October 2012 it is reported that the number of missionaries serving will surge to a peak of about 85,000 by the end of 2013.
One church spokesman said recently that sisters comprise about 50% of all new applications.
Therefore (doing the math) the percentage of sister missionaries could reach approximately 26% by the end of this year.
If the trend of sisters making 50% of applications continues, then eventually the ratio of sisters will reach 50%.
